The PVC is twice as strong for waterproof effectiveness. The coating is heavy and solid, but the fabric is extremely pliable with stunning 16 Colours Palette.WATERPROOF PROPERTIES: The BACK is coated with PVC so the water does not penetrate; it wicks off 100% immediately. A very strong resilience to water penetration. NOTE: the fabric is much heavier than our plain fabrics as this quality has a PVC coating, the plain version have a PU coating on surface which is makes it lighter in weight. Consequently, it’s much more hard wearing.We strongly suggest you buy a sample to Test for Water Repellent and other things and to approve for Colour.Sample: 10x10cms Swatch. Also test for sewing. Note Colours often vary slightly as each batch is slightly different, buy never significantly!It will more than serve the purpose for outdoor upholstery and coverings and be waterproof to wick of rain and water and not allow penetration. However, it is not for a permanent outdoor solution – covered cushions need to be stored indoors when not in use for longevity and look.The fabric is for domestic outdoor use and not for commercial industrial use purposes.We have provided a ISO test certification carried at a ISO certified lab; we are confident about our fabric; but this should not be taken as literal and under circumstances it may not be fully waterproof and we have highted all limitations.NB: Its important to manage expectations: Neither our PU Coated (the lighter version on separate listing) or this PVC Coated Waterproof Canvas is a permanent outdoor solution or be left out in torrential Rain, The Cushions or Furniture must be stored indoors when not in use.==========ISO Test Certified showing Results for Spray Test (Rating 3) and Waterproof Hydrostatic Pressure test (how waterproof a fabric is) is over 20 000ML = very high-GoodWhat does this mean: Suitable for Light Domestic Use and Garden, Not permanent Outdoor use.The Water Spray Test is passed for Level 3, which is acceptable, results showing partial wetting at point of spray hitting fabric, this wicks off. The test is done on the canvas – face side of fabric (If the Spray Test was don’t at back of fabric – the PVC coated side, the fabric would not show any sign of wetting.)The Hydrostatic Pressure test is water pressure applied at certain level and force. Its passed at 20200MM. Even if the result is 10 000MM level, its a good result. A 20200 MM rate is very good and considered high level of waterproof==========*NOTE, Technically the fabric should always be classified as “Water Repellent” as no fabric can be 100% waterproof & be pliable, But with PU Waterproof coating on one side, it really does the job of wicking water off 100%! Not recommended for permanent Outdoor use or in Torrential Rain.We want you to be sure and mange expectations, so you are happy with your purchase.
